About Brunner Livestock
The Brunner family began cattle ranching in 1978. Tracy and Yvonne Brunner, the pillars of Brunner Livestock, married in 1980 and bred their first mare in 1995. The Brunners have a long history of raising, training and competing on American Quarter Horses. Recently, they have expanded this venture by acquiring Park That Cat, a 2021 stallion by legendary High Brow Cat, an all-time leading cutting horse sire.
Both Tracy and Yvonne grew up immersed in rodeo, competing at the high school, college and professional levels. Their children, Cat and Tanner, have continued the tradition with notable success as high school rodeo champions with college rodeo careers. Tanner is a 4-time Wrangler National Finals Rodeo qualifier with many major rodeo titles under his belt.
We have always prioritized athletic horses with good minds and disposition. We’ve had comments on colts from our ranch mares “show them what you want, and they just seem to train themselves.” In 2022 Yvonne trained and rode a home raised mare, Perks Moon Doc to an AQHA World Championship in Select Barrel Racing.
Nestled in the Flint Hills of Kansas, the Brunner family are proud to be a fifth-generation ranching family dedicated to cattle ranching and feeding operations. The Brunner Family was recently honored as “Stockmen of the Year” by the Livestock and Meat Industry Council at Kansas State University.
